Panacea Infarm is an Australian pharmaceutical company.  It was set up with the support of the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research. The company is located in Australia, 189-209 CampRd, Broadmeadows VIC 3047, Melbourne, Victoria. 

Panacea Infarm is one of the world’s largest developers and researchers of medicines against HIV, hepatitis, and oncology. 

The official year of foundation is 1995, before that the company was simply called Panacea, it began its activity in 1980. Oliver Daniel — the creator of the company, then a young and ambitious specialist in the field of biopharmaceutics, set out to launch the market with super-efficient drugs for the treatment of fatal diseases.

Panacea Infarm is constantly expanding. It invites for collaboration the worlds-leading experts. For example, the world-renowned scientists from CSL Behring took part in the research of the innovative drug. Recently, Panacea Infarm bought another biotech company in order to expand its base. The staff is more than 3000 people, and they work all over the world.

The main activity of the company

Panacea Infarm is actively engaged in the research of new active substances and the creation of effective drugs. Each clinical trial is a large-scale project that requires all production capacity. Experiments involve experts in the different fields: scientists, infectious disease doctors, microbiologists, and pharmacists. The main company activity is the development of drugs against infectious and oncological diseases.

One of the Panacea Infarm breakthroughs is the invention of a high effective hepatitis B cure. At the moment Meravir is the first and only effective drug against  chronic hepatitis B (HBV) and co-infection with hepatitis D (HDV). It not only suppress the virus but actually kills it. As a result patient becomes completely healthy. 

Dr Pellegrini, the project manager at the Walter and Elsa Hall Melbourne Institute, said: “We were 100 per cent successful in curing HBV infection in hundreds of tests in preclinical models”.
